'yellow flower' painting

Jo Forrest October 25, 2021

I started the next painting, titled ‘yellow flower’. It’s from a photograph I took when we were walking around the neighbourhood. I really liked the long shadows.

I watched the flower wither for an hour

in the vase,

the moonlight only magnified

its unbecoming flaws.

‘haunted house’ poem # 798 v:1

Started the grass. I painted the background a medium green first, then drew the shapes of the grass on top of that.

A bit more done on the painting. I still have to do the tabletop.

Almost finished. I really like the colours.

The poster from the painting, for the woman who puts out the dog bowls and the little table with the yellow flower on it.

Babe, we all have x-ray vision, and bones don't lie.
