poem glasses jo forrest 2020

the house of luminosity

Jo Forrest June 4, 2020

From the poem ‘the house of luminosity’. #729 v:5 Hand-written text on lined paper.

You sneezed a grim ejecta from your heavy lungs

and coughed,

you smeared your face with soot and ash,

your banner, held aloft.

The killing starts at six o’clock,

I hope you brought a gun,

you’re smug enough to shrug in your

democracy for one.

v:37

I see how lost you are,

we waited while the lumpy muppet

smoked a cheap cigar.

v: 24
